February 24th, 1981: In a press junction, Diana and Charles announce the long awaited news that they are engaged. An interview followed the announcement, and this is what followed after the reporter asked the most obvious of questions.
Diana appeared on the cover of TIME magazine a total of nine times (shown here in chronological order), seven covers solely and two shared with Charles. The covers illustrate how, over time, the world became more and more enraptured and influenced by Diana, right on up until her shockingly sudden 1997 death. TIME also elected Diana as one of The 100 Most Influential People of the 20th Century. [x]
